In 1970 Karin Klouman was living in her native country Norway where she purchased her first Golden Retriever, a female named Pamilla, from the English Drexholme and Boltby lineage. Pamilla went on to produce our first two litters and our first champion. Through our experience with Pamilla we fell in love with the Golden Retriever breed and since we have tried to develop our own distinct line under the KYON prefix. Pamilla taught us what a Golden Retriever should be - a beautiful dog, sound in mind and body with a keen intelligence and a gentle disposition.

| Our first litter all lived until their seventeenth year and since then we have put strong emphasis on health and longevity in our breeding program. We are proud to say that the average KYON Golden Retriever is expected to have a long lifespan. |

From our start with Pamilla we have continued to import Golden Retrievers from the best Scandinavian and English bloodlines. We have combined these pedigrees with the finest English type North American Goldens. As a result, KYON dogs have made a significant impact on the Golden Retriever breed in Canada through our many top-winning BIS champions and outstanding producers. | |||
